Jeanne Hampl, president and co-founder of the Assistance Dog Club of Puget Sound , will be on The Dog Show with Julie Forbes on Wednesday August 8th from 2:00-3:00pm on Alternative Talk 1150 AM.,Seattle WA.
Sponsored by Heeling Allies: This week on The Dog Show with Julie Forbes, in honor of IADW, I’ll be interviewing Jeanne Hampl, founder and president of the Assistance Dog Club of Puget Sound. In addition to the host of the show, I am also a trainer for Heeling Allies, a Seattle based company that trains Mental Health Service Dogs, Skilled Companion Dogs and Emotional Support Dogs. The president of Heeling Allies, Darcie Boltz, is the VP of the Assistance Dog Club of Puget Sound.
Jeanne and I will be talking all things assistance dogs, starting with the ADA’s legal definition. We’ll be discussing the importance of selection and training – diffferences such as self-training and professionally trained dogs, as well as “non-profit” and “for-profit” organizations. Also highlighting the importance of meeting the physical and emotional needs of working service dogs, service dog etiquette, and more!
All shows are archived on www.dogradioshow.com and also available as a free download from iTunes – just search for The Dog Show with Julie Forbes. Find my past interviews with Jeanne, as well as my interview with Trina McDonald, talking about the difference her Mental Health Service Dog, Suzie has made in her life. Trina and Suzie are in the documentary “The Invisible War”, out now, and winner at Sundance Film Festival!
