Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind opens its doors for one day only

Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind is opening the doors of the National Training Centre to the public, in conjunction with International Assistance Dog Week.

Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind’s Open House will take place on Saturday, August 6th 2011 from 11am-3pm at the National Training Centre, located at 4120 Rideau Valley Drive North, Manotick.

The Open House will serve to give the public an in-depth view of the organization, including the opportunity to meet the dogs that change people’s lives on an ongoing basis.

The Open House will feature

  • tours of the facility
  • guide dog demonstrations
  • a charity barbecue

Special guests in attendance will include dogs from our breeding program, puppies who will one day become guide and assistance dogs, and working teams that have graduated from Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind.

Admission and parking for this child-friendly event is free — donations are appreciated.

Please do not bring your pet dog to this event.
