Alrighty, I was wondering if anyone had some advice. 2000 Corollas have the piston ring defect. My Corolla has a cylinder 3 misfire after replacement of a spark coil pack, a spark plug, and all four fuel injectors.
I put mystery oil in the engine last night, but it's still shaking. The check engine light blinks during acceleration. When I pull out the spark plugs, all of them look fine, except for the new one. It has carbon build up.
My father said that I may need to purchase a new engine and have it installed. He blames the defect. I could have the ring repaired, but then the others might go (more money).
My Corolla has 87,000 miles on it, and a mechanic said it would be worth the cost of repair to keep the car.
What should I do?
