Forgive me if this is an old potato, but our 1.4VVTI (2000 model 4ZZ-FE engine) has just had an ignition coil replaced and the fault was diagnosed on my friends fault code software. He says that he used OBD2 to read it, however I am trying to find out if this model of car is fully OBD2 compliant and if not what should I get to read the fault codes?
There is a system called 'EFI Scan' that is made by DDAUTO in Vietnam of all places that looks guaranteed to work, but I just don't fancy ordering something from that far away. The car definitely has an OBD2 type socket (16 pin trapezium shaped connector) located just under the drivers control area but that does not mean that it is fully OBD2 compliant.
Has anyone looked into this for the 2000 model?
