I have two broken studs on my rear wheel. My rear brake drum is stuck. The emergency brake is released. I have banged on it with a hammer. The two press holes are so rusted that the threads for the push bolts are gone. I have already tried to use a tap and die kit to re-thread the holes. Next I tried remove the brake drum by turning the star adjuster. I used two screwdrivers and spun the star adjuster counter clockwise. It made the drum tighter.
I know drum brakes last a lot longer, but right now I hate them. Just so everyone knows, I have already tried to search corolla forums for an answer.
